And once again, here is La Divina, the incredibly flexible voice of Maria Callas singing an Italian version of the Liebestod. A stunning performance, but, for Wagner purists, a capital crime of heresy!!  But before you tie me up to the stake and burn me alive - listen to the incredible climactic peak in which Callas engages in destroying our hearts and sending them to the bliss of a peaceful death!
