Regine Crespin is French so is this the Habanera sung perfectly in the language of Descartes? Should I use this version to teach proper French diction from a native speaker? Hmmm ....she's rolling those Rs a bit and sounding un peu Spanish. Bon bah, Carmen is supposed to be a Spanish gypsy after all. Lovely performance from one true-blood French opera performer!
